II. London Snapshots – Hyde Park

The second day of our trip in London involved a lovely walk in Hyde Park from Marble Arch, surrounded by a beautiful riot of autumnal colours. The air was crisp and invigorating, and the sound of leaves crunching beneath our feet was absolutely exquisite. We met with loads of squirrels along the way, some shy, others bold and audacious as they dared to climb onto our laps to reach for their bounty of nuts in our bags. We also had a pleasant surprise when vibrant-green parakeets surrounded us all, and in a matter of seconds we ended up with a bunch of birds on our heads clamouring to be fed! They were so adorable, even when they bit my finger to demand more food!

Later we visited one of my all-time favourite museums: the Natural History museum. The infamous Hintze Hall always renders me speechless, the giant Blue Whale suspended from the ceiling never ceasing to remind me how small we really are.
